megapowerball|S. Korea's producer price rises in July

SEOULmegapowerball, Augmegapowerball. 21 (Xinhua) -- Price for goods and services among South Korean suppliers rose last month on the back of higher prices for farm goods and industrial products, central bank data showed Wednesday.

The producer price index (PPI) gained 0.3 percent in July from a month earlier after making no change in the prior month, according to the Bank of Korea (BOK).

Price for agricultural, livestock and fishery products among suppliers advanced 1.6 percent last month, marking the first rebound in four months.

Producer price for industrial products, including oil products, increased 0.3 percent in July on a monthly basis, faster than a growth of 0.1 percent in June.

Price for coal and oil products jumped 2.8 percent, but those for chemical and primary metal products inched down last month.

Producer price for electricity, natural gas and tap water went down 0.4 percent in July on a monthly basis, continuing to slide for the second straight month.

Service price was up 0.2 percent last month due to higher costs for the eatery and lodging, the finance and insurance, and the real estate services.■
